Frequently Asked Questions

What is a MDI?

A metered-dose inhaler (MDI) is a device that delivers a measured amount of medication in a mist to the lungs. The mist is in the form of a short burst of aerosolized medicine that is usually self-administered by the patient via inhalation.

What are the benefits of using a MDI?

Rxoid assures you are getting a true inhaler, not a sublingual, that delivers a single dose directly to your lungs. Non-patented and/or full spectrum imitations deposit a spray on the back of your throat, which taste bad and may burn. In addition, Rxoid’s product does not have to be burned, heated, swallowed or rubbed on the skin. It comes in a compact, tamper proof, water proof package. There are no waxes, tars, fillers, coloring, contaminants, toxins, sugar or other adulterants.

What are the benefit of delivery of CBD directly to the lungs?

Immediate effect! The only delivery method as fast or effective is an I.V. You do not have to wait to see if you need an additional dose for your desired effect. Effect is felt in less than 5 minutes vs a pen which can take up to 30 minutes or an edible which can take an hour – Rxoid is 98% bioavailable.

Is Rxoid's MDI approved by the FDA?

Rxoid’s cans, values, actuators and filling equipment are all on file with the FDA. Rxoid complies with all cGMP requirements followed by the manufacturers of our consumables and equipment except for the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). Rxoid’s API is pure CBD isolate containing no THC. While Rxoid’s API is NOT approved by the FDA, Rxoid believes our formulation, which is limited to pure CBD isolate, is not toxic to humans.

Is Rxoid’s MDI safe?

Our medical propellant and CBD isolate is considered non-toxic by the FDA. We use a small amount of medical inhalation grade ethanol and terpenes for flavor. CBD is not yet approved for use by the FDA except in limited circumstances. As with any substance, if you have any concerns consult your physician.

Is there any THC (the stuff that gets you high) in Rxoid?

No. Not any! Rxoid’s CBD isolates is absolutely pure pharmaceutical grade. Rxoid tests its CBD twice, just to make sure.

Is there an odor?

There is no smell. Rxoid can be used anywhere without any smell whatsoever.

Is the device waterproof?

Rxoid keeps working even if submerged in water (clothes washer, swimming pool, or beach).

Do I need to clean my MDI?

Generally, no.

What if my MDI gets dirty?

Do NOT disassemble. Clean with warm water and/or mild soap and rinse. Air dry.

Can I share my MDI?

Sharing an MDI can cause the spread of infectious disease. Sharing is not recommended.

What does CBD do for your health or medical condition?

Rxoid makes absolutely no claims whatsoever about what CBD may do for any consumer. All human bodies work differently for all types of medications. However, there is a vast amount of anecdotal evidence online regarding the benefits of CBD.

What is CBD isolate?

CBD isolate is a pure, crystalline powder that contains 99.75% pure CBD. CBD isolate contains only CBD. All the plant matter contained in the hemp plant, including oils, waxes, chlorophyll, and much more, some of which is potentially toxic to humans especially if heated or burned, are removed, offering a finished product with CBD and nothing more.

Why does Rxoid use CBD isolate instead of full spectrum hemp oil as an API?

Rxoid’s proprietary formula does not produce a burn or irritation in the mouth or throat such as that found with other MDI manufacturers who use oil instead of isolate or those who use parts and equipment from China. Research has established it is impossible to deliver full spectrum oil to the deep lung tissue (alveoli) using an MDI.

Is CBD isolate safe?

Patent 6,630,507 for CBD otherwise known as cannabidiol is owned by the United States Government. The patent itself states “[n]o signs of toxicity or serious side effects have been observed following chronic administration of cannabidiol to healthy volunteers (Cunha et al., Pharmacology 21:175-185, 1980), even in large acute doses of 700 mg/day (Consroe et al., Pharmacol. Biochem. Behav. 40:701-708, 1991).” This doesn’t mean you will not experience an adverse reaction to CBD. As always consult your phyisican before use or if you experience any adverse side effects.

Are there other reasons NOT to use full spectrum hemp oil?

Rxoid’s MDI delivers a single pure API, that being CBD isolate, directly to the human deep lung tissue. When properly formulated, the API is absorbed directly to the blood stream through the alveoli. Generally, the alveoli will not accept more than a single molecular compound at a time. As such, Rxoid’s MDI delivers a single ingredient. In addition to CBD, full spectrum hemp oil contains toxins, GMO’s, trans fats, waxes, oils, lipids, unknown and/or undesirable terpenes, other cannabinoids, plant material, chlorophyll, fats, chloroform, and histamine causing terpenes. In addition, the cannabis plant, both hemp and marijuana are accumulators. As such, full spectrum oil may contain pesticides, inorganic compounds and carcinogenic compounds found in the soil including heavy metals such as lead and mercury. Rxoid’s MDI avoids any possibility of introducing a dangerous compound to the human blood stream.

How much should I take?

Rxoid’s MDI delivers an exact 5mg dosage per actuation. There is no established recommended dosage of CBD isolate. Our experience leads us to believe a normal amount when used regularly is up to 20mg per day on an individual basis. Your results may vary. If you experience any adverse reaction whatsoever immediately discontinue use, contact your physician or emergency room.

Will the ethanol in the MDI affect my blood alcohol level (BAC)?

No. However, Rxoid uses 200 proof inhalation approved ethanol for formulation stabilization purposes. If used immediately prior to an alcohol breathalyzer test, a false positive test for alcohol may result. Rxoid suggests all users who are subject to testing wait at least 10-15 minutes between use and a test as with any prescription inhaler.

How do I know the API is working?

Rxoid makes no claims whatsoever our product will achieve any type of medical results. There is no legitimate testing that shows how much CBD an individual should use for any purpose. All humans are affected differently by chemical compounds of any nature. As such, what affects one person may not affect another.

How soon should I take a second dose?

Rxoid recommends you take a maximum of four (4) doses a day at least four (4) hours apart. Particularly if you are just using CBD for the first time as some individuals may experience a mild irritation or slight discomfort for the first three or four days of use until they adjust to the MDI.

What is bioavailability?

Bioavailability is defined by Harvard University School of Pharmacy as “the percent of dose entering the systemic circulation after administration of a given dosage form.”

Why is bioavailability important?

A consumer wants to achieve a certain affect from taking any medication. To achieve the affect in the body a quantity of the substance needs to be available in the blood stream. As bioavailability decreases a consumer must consume more of the substance to achieve the desired amount in the blood stream. According, lower bioavailability means more of the substance is lost and therefore more must be purchased and consumed. In short this relates directly to the efficacy of the substance relative to its cost. Another way to look at this is a consumer has to use less of a higher bioavailable compound to achieve the same affect. Rxoid’s bioavailability exceeds any other method on the CBD market.
